The "Great One" that is said to have ruled the ancient Earth in the Cthulhu Mythos is rendered in three dimensions with overwhelming presence and volume. Based on Paul Komoda's interpretation of the extraterrestrial life forms depicted by Lovecraft, the entire statue, measuring 400mm in height and width, was hand-sculpted by Shinya Yamaoka. The details that breathe life into the imaginary creatures are the result of Yamaoka's unique spatula technique, backed by his experience, and are a cut above digital sculptures. The fear of supernatural beings that humans cannot possibly defeat, the cosmic horror, is embodied through the coloring by Katsushige Akiyama. The base is based on the motif of R'lyeh, an ancient stone city that sank to the bottom of the South Pacific Ocean. In the center of the base, the head of Lovecraft, the creator of the Cthulhu Mythos, is sculpted with an expression full of curiosity and skepticism, paying tribute to the great author. As a pre-order bonus, the head of Lovecraft, who appears to have been transformed into a demon by cosmic fear, is included.
